Who do you work with?+

I provide individual online counseling for adults who are physically located in Alabama or Florida at the time of service. Common areas of focus include trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance use, grief, relationship concerns, sleep difficulties, and life transitions.

How do online sessions work?+

Sessions are held through a secure video platform. You can join from a private location using a computer, tablet, or phone with a dependable internet connection. At the beginning of each session, I will confirm your physical location. You must be located in Alabama or Florida during the appointment.

Are online sessions private and secure?+

Yes. I use HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms that use encryption to help protect your security and privacy during online sessions. Clients should also join appointments from a private location and use a secure internet connection whenever possible.

Are you licensed in Florida?+

I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alabama and registered with the Florida Department of Health as an out-of-state telehealth provider. Florida registration permits telehealth services for patients located in Florida, but it is not a Florida mental health counselor license and does not permit in-person services in Florida.

Where can I verify your Florida telehealth registration?+

Florida maintains public information about registered out-of-state telehealth providers through the Florida Department of Health. A prominent link to the department’s telehealth website appears in the footer of every page of this site.

What is your approach to therapy?+

My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and tailored to your goals. Depending on your needs, our work may integrate EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, relational and existential therapy, and DBT-informed coping skills.

Do you offer EMDR?+

Yes. EMDR is one of the trauma-focused approaches I offer. We will first discuss your history, goals, readiness, and stabilization needs to decide whether and when EMDR may be appropriate.

Do you accept insurance?+

I accept insurance, including Aetna, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Optum, and Quest Behavioral Health. Network participation and benefits can vary by state and plan, so please confirm that your specific coverage applies to services provided where you are located.

What is the self-pay rate?+

The standard self-pay rate is $150 per individual session. Sliding-scale pricing may be available for eligible clients. Call (205) 561-0345 for details.

How do I book an appointment?+

Call (205) 561-0345 to ask questions, discuss current availability, or book a virtual therapy session. Brief consultations are also available by phone.

When are appointments available?+

Appointments are offered online during weekday evening hours. Current openings can change, so please call (205) 561-0345 for the most accurate availability.

What should I expect in the first session?+

The first session is a chance to discuss what brings you to counseling, your history, strengths, concerns, and goals. We will also review privacy, telehealth expectations, your location, and a preliminary plan for working together.

Is this service appropriate for a crisis?+

No. This practice does not provide emergency or crisis response. If you may harm yourself or someone else, call 911, call or text 988, or go to the nearest emergency department.
